Kelley joined Maurice Law as a summer student in 2022 and obtained her Juris Doctor in June 2023 from University of Ottawa. Prior to law school, Kelley completed a Master of Arts at the University of British Columbia where she researched international Indigenous rights and the use of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. During law school, Kelley completed an internship in Ottawa where she contributed to a Supreme Court of Canada intervention involving the Honour of the Crown and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Kelley also researched and presented on compensation limits at the Specific Claims Tribunal and co-authored a book chapter on dissent and disagreement at the Supreme Court of Canada. This helped cement her interest in using litigation to serve as an advocate for Indigenous peoples and the protection of Indigenous rights. When not working, Kelley volunteered with REACH Canada to provide free legal referral services to people living with disabilities and lead the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law indoor rock-climbing club, called Bouldering & Solicitors. In her spare time, Kelley enjoys canoeing, camping in the great outdoors, baking pies and sharing a homecooked meal with friends and family.
