Aron Taylor

Aron was called to the Bar of the Law Society of Alberta in 2014 and joined Maurice Law as an associate in 2017. Aron provides advice and legal services to First Nations communities and organizations on a wide range of legal matters, including corporate/commercial, civil litigation and intellectual property matters. Aron’s primary area of focus is advising clients on issues arising from the development and operation of natural resource projects impacting First Nations, ensuring the Crown exercises its duty to consult properly and negotiating Impact Benefit Agreements. Aron has appeared before every level of Court in Alberta as both lead and co-counsel on a variety of trials and interlocutory hearings. He also has experience in alternative dispute resolutions, including judicial dispute resolutions, mediations and arbitrations. Aron begain his legal career with a Calgary based boutique energy and commercial litigation firm. Prior to joining Maurice Law, Aron was In-House Counsel for a geophysical service company. Among other duties, Aron managed complex litigation commenced against the Crown to protect the intellectual property and commercial interests to seismic data collected off the coast of Canada. Outside of law, Aron has a passion for coaching youth soccer and playing in the Calgary United Soccer Association.
