Brock Gent
Brock joined Maurice Law in September of 2009 after concluding his articles with a large Calgary firm where he focused predominantly on corporate commercial litigation. Prior to attaining his J.D. from the University of Saskatchewan, Brock was employed by a well known Calgary historical resources consulting firm where he worked closely with Alberta and British Columbia First Nations communities as a Senior Archaeologist and Traditional Knowledge Facilitator in relation to natural resource developments overlapping with First Nations traditional lands.
Brock’s developing practice now covers a variety of areas including:
· civil litigation
· aboriginal rights litigation;
· the duty to consult and regulatory approvals;
· fiduciary duties and the honour of the Crown;
· treaty rights interpretation;

In his spare time, Brock enjoys downhill mountain biking, cross-country skiing and international travel.
